Slop or Not
Use it for people who want native Apple checks or the free online checker for text, images, and provenance clues.
AI Detector
Turnitin only makes sense once a school has already bought the institutional subscription — the AI-writing indicator lives inside Turnitin Originality, and there's no way in without that seat. A teacher without one still needs an answer today: Slop or Not checks the same essay on any iPhone or Mac, no school contract required.
Turnitin is the AI writing and plagiarism detection system built into coursework workflows at schools and universities. It is institution-sold, with no public self-serve free tier; access comes through a school's Turnitin subscription. Slop or Not runs on any iPhone or Mac: no institution, no account, paste the text and get a result on-device.

With Turnitin, submitted papers and other written work (its policy calls this "Submissions") are added to its comparison database, along with contact data for students and staff. Its policy says storage of submission content is indefinite unless an institution's administrator instructs otherwise, so future student papers can be compared against yours. See the Turnitin services privacy policy for details. Slop or Not keeps native checks on your iPhone or Mac, and online checks run on Numen's own Apple hardware and are deleted after processing.

GPTZero lives in Canvas and Google Docs and never leaves the browser — and it never checks an image, despite the 'AI Vision' name.
ZeroGPT needs no account and returns a verdict in seconds, but paste in more than 15,000 characters and it stops reading.
Originality.ai tracks every scan in a dashboard built for agencies, but there's no free tier — every check burns a credit at roughly 100 words apiece.
Copyleaks plugs into seven different LMS platforms and even flags deepfake video, but the sentence-level detail and full reporting sit behind an enterprise account.
Winston AI bundles plagiarism checks and writing feedback with its AI verdict, but the free lite checker stops at 2,000 characters and the real trial runs out in 14 days.
QuillBot folds its AI detector into a paraphrasing suite writers already use, but the free tier caps at 1,200 words a scan and six scans a day.

AI can now fake a profile photo or wrap a scam in a link that looks safe to tap. Numen builds the apps that put you back in charge: spot AI-generated text and images with Slop or Not, run the best open-source models uncensored and private with Private LLM, and strip trackers from links and QR codes before they follow you with Clean Links.
One belief runs through all three: your data belongs to you, and no one else.
