AI Product Image Detector Questions

What does the AI product image detector inspect?

It reads available SynthID, C2PA Content Credentials, and IPTC metadata before checking the pixels. Provenance can provide stronger evidence than a visual probability when it survives the file's journey.

Does missing metadata mean the product photo is real?

No. Marketplaces, editors, screenshots, and messaging apps often remove metadata. Some generators never add readable provenance. A blank metadata result says only that the checked copy exposes no readable record.

Can it check edited renders or composite images?

Yes, but edits can make the answer less direct. A real photograph can contain a generated background, and a generated render can include photographed elements. Review the visible evidence and the listing context together.

Does my product image leave the browser?

The online checker sends the file to Numen's private Mac server and deletes it after processing. Native app checks run on-device. Not every AI image carries a readable watermark, so a missing signal is not proof of human origin.
